Ed dit un rapide "All right ... let's go!" et PJ débute
get to Chicago, get drunk and talk politics ..."; Assembly Hall
is on campus and no alcohol is served) suivit d’une version énergique
Stone, Stone…"
Do The Evolution Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 I'm ahead, I'm a man I'm the first mammal to wear pants. I am at peace with my lust. I can kill cause in god I trust. It's evolution baby. I'm a piece of the man. I buy stocks on the day of the crash. On the loose. I'm a truck. All the rolling hills I'll flatten 'em out. It's herd behavior. Uh huh. It's evolution baby Admire me, admire my home, admire my son, he's my clone. This land is mine, this land is free, I'll do what I want, yet irresponsibly. It's evolution baby. I'm a thief. I'm a liar. There's my church I sing in the choir. Hall-le-lu-jah. Admire me, admire my home, admire my song, admire my clothes. Consider, appetite for nightly feasts. Those ignorant Indians got nothing on me. Nothing. Why? Because, it's evolution baby. I am ahead, I am advanced, I am the first mammal to make plans. I crawled the earth, but now I'm higher. 2010 watch it go to fire. It's evolution baby. I do the evolution. |

Corduroy Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vitalogy Date: 6 décembre 1994 The waiting drove me mad. You're finally here and I'm a mess. I take your entrance back. Can't let you roam inside my head. I don't want to take what you can give. I would rather starve than eat your bread. I would rather run but I can't walk. Guess I lie alone just like before. I'll take the firmest path. Oh, and I must refuse your test. A-push me and I will resist. This behavior's not unique. I don't want to hear from those who know. They can buy but can't put on my clothes. I don't want to wait for them to walk. Never would have known of me before. I don't want to be held in your debt. I'll pay it off in blood let I be wed. I'm already cut up and half dead. I'll end up alone like I began. Everything has chains. Absolutely nothing's changed. "Take my hand, not my picture." Spelled my T-shirt. I don't want to take what you can give. I would rather starve than eat your breast. All the things that others want for me. Can't buy what I want because it's free. Can't be what you want because I... Why ain't it susposed to be just fun? To live and die let it be done. I figure I'll be damned. All alone like I began. It's your move now. I thought you were a friend but I guess, I... I guess I hate you. |

Deep Musique: Gossard, Ament Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 Ahha-yea. On the edge a windowsill. Ponders his maker ponders his will. To the street below he just ain't nothing. But he's got a great view and he sinks the needle deep. Yeah. Whoa, can't touch the bottom. In too deep, yeah. Uh-huh. Can't touch the bottom. Ooh, on the edge of a know-nothing town. Feeling quite superior the age had come. To the sky above he just ain't nothing. But he's got a great view and he sinks the burning mask deep. Yeah. Ooh, can't touch the bottom. In too deep, yeah. Uh-huh. Can't touch the bottom. In too deep. Ohh. Ohh. Oww. On the edge of a Christmas clean love. Young virgin down from heaven, ohh, visiting hell. To the man above her she just ain't nothing. And she doesn't like the view. She doesn't like the view. (x2) But he sinks himself deep. Oh, can't touch the bottom. In too deep, yeah. Uh-huh. Can't touch the bottom. Can't touch the bottom. Deep yeah. Oh. Yeah the bottom. Yeah. Wo. (x5) |

Dissident Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vs Date: 19 octobre 1993 She nursed him there, ooh, over a night. I wasn't so sure she wanted him to stay. What to say? What to say? But soon she was down. Soon he was low. At a quarter past. A holy no. She had to turn around. When she couldn't hold, oh, she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest path. Oh, a dissidence. A dissident is here. And to this day she's glided on. Always home but so far away. Like a word misplaced. Nothing said, what a waste. But when she had contact with the conflict. There was meaning but she sold him to the state. She had to turn around. When she couldn't hold she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest path. Oh, a dissidence. A dissident is here. Oh. Oh... Oh... She gave him away when she couldn't hold. No, she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest path. Oh, a dissident, a dissident is here. Oh, couldn't hold on. She couldn't hold. No, she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest place. Oh, A dissident is here. |

Elderly Woman Behind the Counter Of A
Small Town Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vs Date: 19 octobre 1993 I seem to recognize your face. Haunting familiar, yet I can't seem to place it. Cannot find the candle of thought to light your name. Lifetimes are catching up with me. All these changes taking place. I wish I'd seen the place but no one's ever taken me. Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away. Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away. I swear I recognize your breath. Memories, like fingerprints, are slowly raising. Me you wouldn't recall for I'm not my former. It's hard when your stuck upon the shelf. I changed by not changing at all. Small town predicts my fate. Perhaps that's what no one wants to see. I just want to scream, "Hello." My god its been so long. Never dreamed you'd return. But now here you are and here I am. Hearts and thoughts they fade...away... Hearts and thoughts they fade...away... Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away... Hearts and thoughts they fade... |

Even Flow Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 Freezing. Rests his head on a pillow made of concrete. Again. Oh, Feeling maybe he'll see a little better set a days. Ooh yeah. Oh, hand out faces that he sees time again ain't that familiar. Ooh yeah. Oh, dark grin. He can't help when his happy looks insane. Ooh. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away-yeah. Ooh. Oh, someday yet he'll begin his life again. Life again. Life again. Kneeling. Looking through the paper though he doesn't know to read. Ooh yeah. Oh, praying now to something that has never showed him anything. Oh, feeling understands the weather of the winters on its way. Oh, ceilings few and far between all the legal halls of shame. Yeah. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away. Oh, someday yet he'll begin his life again. Oh, whispering hands gently lead him away. Him away. Him away. Yeah. Woo. Ah Yeah. Fuck your money. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away. A-someday yet he'll begin his life again. Yeah. Oh, whispering hands gently lead him away. Him away. Him away. Yeah. Woo. Uh huh yeah. Yeah yeah, momma mommy |

Jeremy Musique: Ament Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 At home drawing pictures of mountain tops, with him on top. Lemon yellow sun. Arms raised in a V. And the dead lay in pools of maroon below. Daddy didn't give attention, oh, to the fact that mommy didn't care. King Jeremy the wicked, oh, ruled his world. Jeremy spoke in class today. Jeremy spoke in class today. Clearly how I remember picking on the boy. Seemed a harmless little fuck. Ooh, but we unleashed a lion. Gnashed his teeth and bit the recess lady's breast. How could I forget. And he hit me with a surprise left. My jaw left hurting. Ooh, dropped wide open. Just like the day, Oh, like the day I heard. Daddy didn't give affection, no, and the boy was something mommy wouldn't wear. King Jeremy the wicked, oh, ruled his world. Jeremy spoke in class today. Jeremy spoke in class today. Jeremy spoke in class today. Ty to forget this...Try to forget this... T ry to erase this...Try to erase this... From the blackboard... Jeremy spoke in class today Jeremy spoke in class today Jeremy spoke in, spoke in Jeremy spoke in, spoke in Jeremy spoke in class today... (spoke in, spoke in...) |

You Are Musique: Cameron Paroles: Vedder, Cameron Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 This broken wheel is coming undone. And the road's exploding. But you're keeping me strong. Rolling along with you. Love is a tower and you're the key. Leading me higher. When you let me in. Keeping us close, so close, on down the line. Sometimes I burn like a dot on the sun with no one knowing. But you're keeping me strong. Moving along with you. You are a tower of strength to me. The darkening hour sees light again. Again. Ooh wah, ooh wah, you are, you are. Love is a tower of strength to me. I am the shoreline but you're the sea. |
||
I Am Mine Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 The selfish. They're all standing in line. Fathing and hoping to buy themselves time. He I figure as each breath goes by. I only own my mind. The north is to south what the clock is to time. There's east and there's west and there's everywhere lines. I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine. I am mine. And the feeling it gets left behind. All the innocence lost at one time. Significant behind the eyes. There's no need to hide. We're safe tonight. The ocean is full cause everyone's crying. The full moon is looking for friends at high tide. The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrows denied. I only know my mind. I am mine. And the meaning it gets left behind. All the innocents lost at one time. Significant behind the eyes. There's no need to hide. We're safe tonight. What. And the feelings that get left behind. All the innocence broken with lies. Significance between the lines. We may need to hide. And the meaning that get left behind. All the innocence lost at one time. We're all different behind the eyes. There's no need to hide. |

Habit Ecrit par: Vedder Album: No Code Date: 27 août 1996 See it happen to a couple of friends. Seen it happen and the message it sends. Takeing off for what's an obvious fall. Just to see what all the fuss is about. It's not your way. Not your way. It's not your way. Another habit says it's in love with you. Another habit says it's long overdue. Another habit like an unwanted friend. I'm so happy with my righteous self. It's not your way. Not your way. It's not your way. Never thought you'd habit. (x3) I never thought you... Never thought you. Never thought you'd habit. (x3) I never thought you... Never never thought you. Never thought you'd habit. (x6) Speaking as a child of the 90's... Never thought you'd habit. (x3) I never thought you... Never thought you. Never thought you'd habit. (x3) I never thought you... Never never thought you. Never... Never me. Never you. Never me. |

MFC Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 Sliding out of reverse into drive. This wheel will be turning right, then straight. Off in the sunset she'll ride. She can remember a time, denied. Stood by the side of the road. Spilled like wine now. She's out on her own and line high. There's no leaving here. Ask I'm an ear. She's disappeared now. They said that timing was everything. Made him want to be everywhere. There's a lot to be said for nowhere. There's no leaving here. Ask I'm an ear. He's disappeared now. There's no leaving here. Ask I'm an ear. Fuck it. We'll disappear now. |

Given To Fly Musique: McCready Paroles: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 He could have tuned in, tuned in, but he tuned out. A bad time nothing could save him. Alone in a corridor, waiting, locked out. He got up outta there ran for hundreds of miles. He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree. The wind rose up set him down on his knee. A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw. Deliver him wings, "Hey look at me now!" Arms wide open with the sea as his floor oh, oh, oh... He's flying, whole! High! wide! oh... He floated back down cause he wanted to share. This key to the locks, on the chains, he saw everywhere. But first he was stripped, and then he was stabbed by faceless men. Well fuckers, he still stands. And he still gets his love he just gives it away. The love he receives is the love that is saved. And sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky. A human being that was given to fly... Flying! whole... High! flying! whole... He's flying! woah... High... woah... oh... |

Porch Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 What the fuck is this world running to? You didn't leave a message at least I coulda' learned your voice one last time. Daily minefield this could be my time by you. Would you hit me? Would you hit me? Ohh. Whoa oww. All the bills go by and initiatives are taken up. By the middle. There ain't gonna be any middle any more. And the cross I'm bearing home ain't indicative of my place. Left the porch. Left the porch. Oh. Hear my name. Take a good look. This could be the day. Hold my hand. Walk beside me. I just need to say. Uh huh. Uh huh yeah uh huh. Uh huh yeah uh huh. Oh, hear my name. Take a good look. This could be the day. Hold my hand. Lie beside me. I just need to say. I could not take a-just one day I know when I would not ever touch you, hold you, feel you in my arms. Never again. Yeah. (x12) |

Driven To Tears Ecrit par: Police How can you say that you're not responsible? What does it have to do with me? What is my reaction, what should it be? Confronted by this latest atrocity Driven to tears Hide my face in my hands, shame wells in my throat My comfortable existance is reduced to a shallow meaningless party Seems that when some innocent die All we can offer them is a page in a some magazine Too many cameras and not enough food 'Cos this is what we've seen Driven to tears Protest is futile, nothing seems to get through What's to become of our world, who knows what to do Driven to tears |

Betterman Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Vitalogy Date: 6 décembre 1994 Waiting, watching the clock. It's four o'clock. It's got to stop. Tell him. Take no more. She practices her speech as he opens the door, she rolls over. Pretends to sleep as he looks her over. She lies and says she's in love with him. Can't find a better man. She dreams in color, she dreams in red. Can't find a better man. Can't find a better man. Talking to herself, "There's no one else who needs to know," she tells herself. Memories back when she was smooth and strong and waiting for the world to come along. Swears she knew him now she swears he's gone. She lies and says she's in love with him. Can't find a better man. She dreams in color, she dreams in red. Can't find a better man. She lies and says she still loves him. Can't find a better man. She dreams in color, she dreams in red. Can't find a better man. Can't find a better man. She loved him, yeah. She don't want to leave this way. She feeds him, yeah. That's why she'll be back again. Can't find a better man. |

Crazy Mary Ecrit par: Victoria Williams She lived on the curve in the road in an old tar paper shack. On the south side of the town on the wrong side of the tracks. Sometimes on the way into town we'd say, "Mama can we stop and give her a ride?" Sometimes we did but her hands flew from her side. Wild eyed crazy Mary. Down a long dirt road past the Parson's place. That old blue car we used to race. Little country store with a sign tacked to the side. Said 'NO LOITERING ALLOWED.' Underneath that sign always congregated quite a crowd. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it around. Take a bottle drink it down. Drink it... Pass it around. Pass it a... A-take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it a... Pass it around. One night thunder cracked. Mercy backed outside her windowsill. Dreamed I was flying high above the trees over the hills. Looked down into the house of Mary. Terrible thoughts. Newspaper covered walls. And Mary rising up above it all. Oh... Oh... Oh... Next morning on the way into town saw some skid marks and followed them around. Over the curve, through the fields, into the house of Mary. That what you fear the most could meet you halfway. That what you fear the most could meet you halfway. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it around. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it around. Pass it a... Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it a... Pass it around. Oh, pass it a... Pass it arround. Pass it a... Pass it a... Pass it a... Oh yeah. |

And when the band plays "Hail to the chief", Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son. Blue, Red and Grey Ecrit par: The Who Some people seem so obsessed with the morning Get up early just to watch the sun rise Some people like it more when there's fire in the sky Worship the sun when it's high Some people go for those sultry evenings Sipping cocktails in the blue, red and grey But I like every minute of the day I like every second, so long as you are on my mind Every moment has its special charm It's all right when you're around, rain or shine I know a crowd who only live after midnight Their faces always seem so pale And then there's friends of mine who must have sunlight They say a suntan never fails I know a man who works the night shift He's lucky to get a job and some pay And I like every minute of the day I dig every second I can laugh in the snow and rain I get a buzz from being cold and wet The pleasure seems to balance out the pain And so you see that I'm completely crazy I even shun the south of France The people on the hill, they say I'm lazy But when they sleep, I sing and dance Some people have to have the sultry evenings Cocktails in the blue, red and grey But I like every minute of the day I like every minute of the day |

Black Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 Sheets of empty canvas. Untouched sheets of clay were laid spread out before me as her body once did. All five horizons revolved around her soul. As the earth to the sun. Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn. Ooh, and all I taught her was everything. Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore. And now my bitter hands shade beneath the clouds of what was everything. All the pictures have all been washed in black. Tattooed every day. I take a walk outside. I'm surrounded by some kids at play. Oh, I can feel their laughter. Oh, so why do I sear? Ooh, and twisted thoughts that spin around my head. I'm spinning. Oh, I'm spinning. How quick the sun can drop away. And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything. All the pictures have all been washed in black. Tattooed everything. All the love gone bad turned my world to black. Tattooed all I see. All that I am. All I'll be. Yeah. Uh huh... Uh huh... Ooh. I know someday you'll have a beautiful life. I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky but why, why, why can't it be, oh, can't it be mine? Oh... Ohh yeah oh. Do do do do do do do |

While you were sitting home alone at age thirteen your real daddy was dying. Sorry you didn't see him but I'm glad we talked." Oh, I... Oh, I'm still alive. Hey, I... Oh, I'm still alive. Hey, I... Oh, I'm still alive. Hey, ooh. Oh, she walks slowly across a young man's room. She said, "I'm ready for you." Why I can't remember anything to this very day? 'Cept the look. The look. Oh, you know where. Now I can't see I just stare. I... I'm still alive. Hey I... But, I'm still alive. Hey I... Boy, I'm still alive. Hey I... Oh, I'm still alive. Yeah. Ooh yeah. Yeah yeah yeah. Oh. Ooh. "Is something wrong?" She said. Of course there is. "You're still alive." She said. Oh, and do I deserve to be? Is that the question? And if so, if so, who answers? Who answers! I... Oh, I'm still alive. Hey I... Oh, I'm still alive. Hey I... But, I'm still alive. Yeah I... Ooh, I'm still alive. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. |
