They put on a great show, but their opening acts are almost always at least as big a draw. This one is no exception: New Jersey's Ted Leo & the Pharmacists make high-energy punk rock for thinking people. Dodge Music Center. (JERRY HOLT/MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE/MCT / June 26, 2006)

FRIDAY: Pearl Jam, a rock band that rose out of the grunge movement of the 1990s, performs at the Dodge Music Center in Hartford Friday. The band's latest studio album is the self-titled "Pearl Jam" in 2006. Lead singer Eddie Vedder created the soundtrack for the 2007 movie "Into the Wild," writing most of the songs and singing all of them.

New Jersey punk rockers Ted Leo and the Pharmacists open. Their album "Living With the Living" was released in 2007.

The concert is at 8 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m. The Dodge Music Center is at 61 Savitt Way in Hartford.
