Pearl Jam rocks out at Beach amphitheater

Pearl Jam delivered a gem of a show full of surprises Tuesday night at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater.

As announced, the band, which includes as its members singer Eddie Vedder, guitarist Mike McCready, drummer Matt Cameron, guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament - was expected to dig deep into its catalog. It did just that by performing "All Night,"a b-side rarity, and "Long Road."

While die hard fans reveled in the obscure pieces, it was hits such as "Jeremy," "Do the Evolution" and "Alive" that drove the enormous and boisterous crowd into a frenzy.

Pearl Jam, as you're probably aware, emerged in 1991 as one of the hottest new rock acts from the Seattle grunge scene. Their Virginia Beach concert was just one stop on a very short summer tour.

Throughout the night Vedder was dynamic, whether strapped with an electric guitar or flying through the air to catch a tambourine.The sound was mixed well with great separation between instruments.

The much talked about cover tunes by The Who never materialized but no one seemed to mind. Pearl Jam concluded its set joined on stage by opening act Kings of Leon for a rousing version of Neil Young's "Rocking in the Free World."

Kings of Leon, comprised of brothers Caleb Followill (vocals/guitar),Jared Followill (bass), Nathan Followill (drums), and their cousin Matthew Followill (guitar), also gave Virginia Beach an exciting show on this their fourth and final night opening for Pearl Jam.

There 1970s inspired material wowed the audience. Eddie Vedder joined the band on its final number, "Slow Night, So Long."

Elle fait plaisir cette tournée, elle est plus variée...Dommage pour l'Europe!!

non, j'ai mis Evacuation en gras car ce titre n'avait pas encore été joué (contrairement à Low Light)

je me tâte entre quelques boots et les posters, car les boots je sais qu'ils feront jolis sur une étagère et que vraisemblablement ils ne seront jamais ouverts et un beau poster donc, au mur et dans 5 ans je me dirais quel blé foutu en l'air pour ces pauv posters qui représentent un poulpe moisi
