Okay, so the show kicked ass. Eddie was super funny. But first, here's the cool part: 10C screwed up some of the seats, and put my girlfriend and I in separate rows (she was right in front of me). Well, we politely complained (I tried being very nice, as normally I don't make a big deal about these things) and THEY PUT US IN THE FRONT ROW!!!!!! It was crazy. But back to the show . . . a weird Johnny Cash-ish version of Elderly Woman started off the show as intro music, and Ed came out very hungover. He was also extremely political tonight, and made a funny comment something to the effect of "If me being hungover means I fuck up a lot, none of you get your money back . . .in fact, I will keep it all and use it for rehab. Also, if any of you are Republicans and want your money back, you don't get it either. I will keep it and hopefully use it to contribute to the demise of future Republicans."

Before Rise, somebody shouted "Dirty Frank!" Ed responded, "Yeah, Dirty Frank on a mandolin" and played a few bars. "That's what we call a shitty suggestion. But thank you for letting me make fun of you, prick." It was quite funny. Add to that a Barry White impression with a preset on the looping machine, and all the great music, and you have a wonderful 2 hr 15 minute show. Liam kicked ass also. Can't wait until tomorrow night.

Here's the Barry White story:

Ed started talking about his electronics on stage (like the loop machine for arc). He explained they come pre-programmed with back-up music, like drum or background tracks and such. At some point, he stumbled across one track which he described as vile, offensive, etc. "But then it starts growing on you." So they decided he should play it at one show.

He lit a cigarette and the lights turned down low. Then he kicked on the machine and this background track started. Tough to describe.... Barry White-esque. Imagine a perfect cross between classic 70's porn music and 80's elevator music. Everyone started laughing. Ed danced a little.

Then he sat down and started doing spoken word on top of the track in a very deep throaty voice:

Hey

Hey Baby

I want to lick you

I want to lick you all over like an ice cream cone

I want to kiss you and lick you....

Is that a rope by the bed? Are we getting freaky tonight, baby?

Why are you making a noose baby?

I didn't know you could make a noose baby.

Are you going to kill yourself baby?

Are you going to kill me baby?

Something to that effect. He danced around on the stool a little bit more. The crowd loved it. It was EASILY the funniest thing I have ever seen at a PJ show, and probably any show ever.

Masters of war was incredible, absolutely incredible.
