While Pearl Jam used to release massive volumes of live sets on CD, the only physical copies of the September Missoula concert will be available from Rockin Rudy’s.

“They don’t really put out hard copies of things very often. But this was sort of a rare and special thing and they had a really really good time,” said Rockin Rudy’s owner Bruce Micklus.

The band had a good enough time at the Adams Center that it selected the show for its “Instant Classic” digital download program, donating the proceeds from the first six days of sales to the Poverello Center.

Micklus was able to talk them into a run of CDs through some inside connections including Tim Bierman, a former Missoulian who runs the band’s Ten Club.

For this limited run of hard copies, Rockin Rudy’s will donate $3 per sale to the Watson Children’s Shelter in conjunction with an annual 24-hour marathon for the nonprofit put on by the Trail 103.3, set for Dec. 21 this year.

suite du post précédent :

Remember that Pearl Jam Concert from last October? If you do then you might have downloaded the bootleg of the show available on the band's website.

The proceeds from that fundraiser went to the Poverello Center on Tuesday, in the form of a check for $12,500 from Pearl Jam's fan club.

According to a post on the center's Facebook page, that money equals about 12,000 meals or 1,300 nights of shelter. Around 2,500 fans purchased the $5 bootleg.

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament has Montana roots and still resides in Missoula for part of the year.
