(Ed talks about someone local that had been helping him for the last couple of days. Ed gave him a harmonica and the man was very grateful. Ed thinks he was trying to say "you are too much" or but instead he said "You don't exist". Ed says "oh you noticed." Ed says he feels very special and has been treated so well in Portugal that if feels like a dream.)

Je suis quand même curieux de voir comment ce concert va se passer. EdVed en solo, ça a toujours été intimiste avec un public acquis à sa cause, assis, dans des salles à l'accoustique parfaite.

Là ça va être sur la grande scène d'un festoche open air de 30'000 places avec un public de fans, mais aussi j'imagine de personnes qui n'en auront pas forcément grand chose à faire.

Je me demande comment il va s'en sortir et si il va pas adapter son show à l'environnement un petit peu quand même, par exemple en jouant plus de chansons avec basse et batterie.

Ça va être une première en fest' (il aurait du jouer au New Orleans Jazz Festival en mai dernier). Je ne suis pas inquiet, ces 2 albums y ont été classé n'1, son public sera la. Il va gérer le truc (comprendre: jouer Just Breathe, Small Town et Betterman).

Quelle expérience qu'un concert Vedder solo !

J'ai découvert Glen Hansard, qui en quelques notes c'est mis dans la poche le peu de public présent à 20h pour son set. Il m'a scotché. Très bon, bon esprit et puis Ed qui déboule à la fin... Mmmhh, la nuit "alentejana" s'annonce belle !
Je passe sur le reste du festival en lui même, 5 jours au milieu de nulle part pour minets et minettes pré-pubère en mal d'hormones... Tout est dit.

En place vers minuit, Mike side, 10eme rang et Can't Keep qui déboule pour mon plus grand plaisir !
Et puis ça déroule un set plein de maîtrise, entrecoupé d'interventions en portugais bien pensée et touchante. Ed nous entraîne entre tous ses titres, ceux de PJ, des reprises... Je kiffe !
Il a su abilement "calmé" les festivaleux, qui s'emballaient à chanter à la sauce PJ, mais pas de ça ce soir.
La version de Better Man à été fabuleuse et à fini par créer un respect presque religieu de la foule, le tout maintenu jusqu'à Arc. Une tuerie !
Subtile équilibre trouvé par Ed et ce n'était pas gagné. Ben Harper l'a appris à ces dépend la veille en bâclant son set, enervé par un public qu'il n'a pas su maîtrisé justement...

Une Rockin' improvisée (d'où le problème de son) en rapport du surf camp de Ericeira ou Ed avait ses petites habitudes qui a été fermé la semaine dernière pour de sombres raisons qui m'échappent encore, bref, Keep on surfin' in à free world !

Ce fut beau, intense, maîtrisé, entêtant.
À refaire, les yeux fermés !
