Queens Of The Stone Age Begin Work On New LP
Queens Of The Stone Age mainman Josh Homme has revealed he has found room in his busy schedule to begin work on a new album.
Since the release of the Queens’ last studio record ‘Era Vulgaris‘ in 2007, Homme has worked on LPs with Eagles Of Death Metal and Them Crooked Vultures, and he has told the UK’s Star newspaper he is now ready to return to the Queens Of the Stone Age fold. “I have ideas already. It’s all about wiggling hips,” he said. “The music is gonna go further down that strange and lovely path of the Era Vulgaris album.”
Homme also spoke of his delight at the prospect of releasing a new album through independent label Dangerbird, which hosts the likes of The Dears and Hot Hot Heat, after parting ways with their major label. “Finally we’re in a time frame where you can make music and art just for the sake of it,” he remarked. “There’s no tap dance with a label executive who just wants to sell stuff.”
Queens Of The Stone Age are set to return to the UK next month when they appear at the Reading/Leeds Festivals, playing second on the bill to headliners Guns n Roses.
