Faith No More 1997-05-05 SO 36, Berlin, Germany [FM]

Faith No More
SO 36
Berlin, DE
1997-05-05 [FM]

In 1997 Faith No More played a small number of gigs in Germany to promote "Album of the year".Those gigs were played in small venues, in front of a few hundred people only. One of those gigs was broadcasted by a local radio station.I may be wrong about this, but I think this was Berlins "SO 36" ( a small club in Berlin).

I don´t think this one has been circulating too much, so I thought I´d put it up for you.

This is a very good gig, the band is very tight and Patton is simply unbelievable.

I've got about 10 secounds of Faith No More doing a bit of alive and another bit of them doing Jeremy as a Jizzlobber tag I think (I got them both of the Caca Volante filesharing thing).

Here the news :

Ipecac Records has announced the final track listing for former FAITH NO MORE's upcoming self-titled album as PEEPING TOM, which will be released May 30. According to Billboard.com, the set was pieced together by swapping song files through the mail with collaborators like Norah Jones ("Sucker"), Kool Keith ("Getaway") and MASSIVE ATTACK ("Kill the DJ").

Among the other guests on "Peeping Tom" are Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, Amon Tobin, DUB TRIO, Bebel Gilberto, Dos One and members of the MELVINS.

"I don't know how many songs he recorded — an insane amount, like 30," MELVINS drummer Dale Crover told Billboard.com last month. "There's a lot of layered vocals — like BEACH BOYS style. Some hip hop-y sort of beats. It's weird. It's drum machine mixed with live drums mixed with crazy samples, but then there's guitar and bass."

"I don't listen to the radio, but if I did, this is what I'd want it to sound like," Patton said of the project, according to Billboard.com. "This is my version of pop music. In way, this is an exercise for me: taking all these things I've learned over the years and putting them into a pop format."

"Peeping Tom" track listing:

01. Five Seconds (featuring Odd Nosdam)
02. Mojo (featuring Rahzel and Dan the Automator)
03. Don't Even Trip (featuring Amon Tobin)
04. Getaway (featuring Kool Keith)
05. Your Neighborhood Spaceman (featuring Jel and Odd Nosdam)
06. Kill The DJ (featuring Massive Attack)
07. Caipirinha (featuring Bebel Gilberto)
08. Celebrity Death Match (featuring Kid Koala)
09. How U Feelin? (featuring Doseone)
10. Sucker (featuring Norah Jones)
11. We're Not Alone (featuring Dub Trio)

Patton is hoping to mount a tour in support of "Peeping Tom" but details have yet to be announced.

Tomahawk : Mike Patton
Bungle no more?

It has been four long years since I last spoke to Mike Patton. At the time, his former band Faith No More had been broken up for a year, and his newly established record label Ipecac Recordings were about to unleash their debut release. That release also presented the world with the first recorded output from Mike Patton since Faith No More's demise - a supergroup he had formed called Fantômas. But that was only the beginning.
A few months later, the band that he started in high school, Mr Bungle, had released their long awaited third album California. It didn't end there. Not content with just sticking to one band and waiting a couple of years between releases, Patton had involved himself in a plethora of other projects and collaborations and guested on a number of albums from artists such as The Melvins, Tin Hat Trio and John Zorn.

Unsurprisingly, a lot has happened in Mike Patton's world since then. He was asked to audition for the lead singer role in INXS to replace Michael Hutchence, and more recently was asked to front a new group formed by Slash and other ex-Guns 'n' Roses members. However, both offers were politely declined. The man is just "too busy."
Recording wise, there was a second Fantomas album, a combined Fantômas-Melvins live album, a collaboration album that involved Dan The Automator and Jennifer Charles (Elysian Fields) that went under the guise of Lovage, a collaboration EP with The Dillinger Escape Plan, and another new supergroup that he had formed called Tomahawk (who released their rocking self-titled debut album in 2001).

Mike Patton is Peeping Tom

Selon une interview donnée à MTV, "It’s very slick - it’s a groove record,".

FIVE SECONDS (feat. Odd Nosdam) MOJO (feat. Rahzel and Dan the Automator) DON’T EVEN TRIP (feat. Amon Tobin) GETAWAY (feat. Kool Keith) YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD SPACEMAN (feat. Jel and Odd Nosdam) KILL THE DJ (feat. Massive Attack) CAIPIRINHA (feat. Bebel Gilberto) CELEBRITY DEATH MATCH (feat. Kid Koala) HOW U FEELIN ? (feat. Doseone) SUCKER (feat. Norah Jones) WE’RE NOT ALONE-remix (feat. Dub Trio)
