La vague revival est en marche: ce soir sur M6, dans Nouvelle Star, un candidat a repris Black Hole Sun... Le groupe était à mille lieues derrière Thayil / Cameron / Shepherd (ils ont bouffé la moitié des riffs !), mais le candidat avait plus de coffre que l'original !

Philippe Manoeuvre n'a pas aimé.

Soyons honnêtes. Le groupe de la Nouvelle Star est habituellement assez bon, mais pas pour jouer ce genre de truc. Mais c'est surtout le pauvre ibère qui a cru un instant pouvoir être Cornell à la place de Cornell, et ça, malgré les critiques à la mode (et faciles) sur l'intéressé, ce n'est pas si simple.

Quant au concert de "Nude Dragons" le 16 avril dernier à Seattle, franchement, vu la setlist, ça promet non ? Reste à voir si le chant était revenu à la hauteur, mais il parrait qu'il a travaillé dur pour ça !

Selon Z, des membres de Pearl Jam et Mudhoney assistaient au concert, ainsi que Jonathan Poneman.

Je paraphrase Denis, avec les albums en plus, ce qui permet de constater qu'ils ont bossé principalement les vieux titres, tant mieux ! Me manque juste Room a Thousand Year Wide , Jesus Christ Pose et Mailman !

Sur le live at the Showbox, grand retour de Soundgarden à Seattle le 14 avril dernier, Tayil lance Beyond the Wheel après quatre trois titres de bon niveau. C'est le moment de vérité pour Cornell.
Le morceau débute très bas, avant que Cameron fasse monter la sauce, et là... frissons partout. Cornell envoie très fort, voix très haute et puissante, bien aidé par la reverb, justesse impécable. Superbe.
Plus tard dans le set, la voix de Cornell se fait moins puissante, voire moins juste, question d'entraînement sans doute. Mais au moins, il peut le faire, ça rassure.
Je voulais juste dire ça, pour répondre aux plus sceptiques, dont je faisais un peu partie !

sinon, les prochaines séances d'UV de Chris Cornell seront payés par un best of, Telephantasm qui sortira le 28 septembre. On aura avant ça un "nouveau" morceau, Black Rain (ce qui est probablement ce qui vient avant, ou après le Black Hole Sun)le 10 août. Il semblerait que Black Rain vient des sessions de Superunknown, mais il a sans doute été réenregistré avec la nouvelle voix de Chris Cornell

Soundgarden will release Telephantasm, a new collection featuring greatest hits and the new unreleased song “Black Rain” on September 28th. WAAF (une radio de Boston) are reporting that there will be some new songs on the album, we are not able to confirm this yet though.
