After numerous delays, former Afghan Whigs leader Greg Dulli has finished his fourth album under the Twilight Singers moniker. The 12-track "Powder Burns" will be released May 16 via One Little Indian.
Singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur guests on the tracks "There's Been an Accident," "Forty Dollars" and "The Conversation," while Ani DiFranco lends a hand on "Bonnie Brae," the title cut and "Candy Cane Crawl," which also features Whigs bassist John Curley.
"It's rock and sometimes hard rock," Dulli told Billboard.com of the album in July 2005. "It's the way I'm feeling. It's just what's coming out. Its multi-layered and very textured and there's soft ones but there are a preponderance of faster, harder [ones]."
Dulli will unveil the new material during an appearance next month at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. A more extensive tour will follow in May.
