Bien sûr qu'on peut tenir le coup mais je suis toujours très intéressé par un leak en attendant

Je crois que maintenant, à 3 semaines de la sortie officielle, je ne gâcherai pas mon plaisir et mettrai confortablement la galette dans la platine..Je vais attendre et suis doublement content qu'il n'ait pas leaké avant.. Il serait sorti sur le net il y 2 mois, je dis pas, j'aurais écouté c'est clair, mais là... Suis vraiment curieux de savoir comment ça va sonner ce Backspacer..

Live Concert Audio to be Given Away as An Added Bonus with CD or Itunes Purchase

Pearl Jam have announced that fans who purchase their eagerly anticipated new studio album ‘Backspacer’ (released Sept 21st) on CD or from ITunes will be able to download the audio from their choice of two entire Pearl Jam concerts from a selection of 11 US shows.

Both the limited edition and standard CD features an exclusive Ebridge which gives fans nearly five (5) hours of additional audio. This exclusive giveaway marks the first-time an artist has allowed fans to access their live music vault while purchasing a new album.

The live concert audio can be accessed by inserting the new ‘Backspacer’ into a personal computer or by clicking the link provided by iTunes with the album purchase.

The gigs available for download with the purchase of ‘Backspacer’ are Halifax (22/09/05), Philadelphia (03/10/05), Santiago (21/11/05), Chicago (17/05/06), Grand Rapids (19/05/06), Camden (28/05/06), E Rutherford (06/03/06), San Francisco (16/07/06), New York (25/06/06), Hartford (27/06/08) and Mansfield (28/06/08).

The band will be able to update the content at any time – meaning fans may have access to more bonus features in the future.

Backspacer is available for pre-order now and first single “The Fixer” is out on September 7th on Universal/Island Records.

Sans doute, en fait, c'est pile le même prix qu'au Ten Club (19$ = 14€), et je n'ai pas entendu parler de versions vinyl différentes. Heureusement, parce que si c'est pas un 180gr ça serait dommage.

(et hmm, quand tu vois le booklet, il a quand même pas l'air fort terrible)

C'est du moins ce qui est précisé sur le 10c:
24-page full-sized (11.75" x 11.75"), ce qui fait bien 30cm x 30cm.

Terrible ou pas le booklet, je vais attendre encore un peu pour le vinyl...

Watch out. As much as this album gets praised, it’s not the album of the year. It’s not even at any point first class stuff.

But if you’d stop here, you’re wrong. It would be like being scared away from a lady because at your first date, she didn’t wear high heels. In short, beyond the surface, Backspacer is pulsating. It screams out life and is energy-overloaded, just like their 20-year old debut album did. But instead, it’s an album by a band of multibillionaires. By a band who can reinvent themselves in all possible ways.

An attitude once again shown by Eddie Vedder & band, who spent the 90ies escaping their own fame, by their cause against Ticketmaster, by their fights with Kurt Cobain, the sacred cow, dedication towards their own fans and not the media (for example during the Vs. tour) and categorical refusal of making videoclips : after the assembled laurels of Jeremy, Jeff Ament let it be known he didn’t want his own music to be remembered by some nice images.

In the good things and the bad things, Pearl Jam have always done it their own way. The result is that listening to Backspacer is like finding yourself still in love with the same girl many years after that first date. And already in the morning, when with Gonna See My Friend, a highly emotional, overshadowing crescendo is launched. From such a spark, Backspacer explodes and lets vent a huge longing towards freedom. By impulse and by the instinctive know-how to let us bang our heads (like in the single the Fixer or in Force of Nature, where the Jam show love for the Who and inspiration from the late 70ies brit punk), Vedder & members ressemble the Stone very much. Only with Paul Young in the heart instead of in Swinging London (Just Breathe as proof of this).

This is because, in spite of the postmodern charms of hitting the same roads without going somewhere, Pearl Jam screams being a 70ies band. In the core. Their songs are simple, they ooze rock without frills based on guitar, drums & voice (God, what a voice!). To make the difference with the i(n)di(e)-ots with the right look and and with the philologists without memory, it’s the need to say something and the luck to still have something to say. Hard to determine if the secret lies in a purity dug up from an era with many ingenuous passages (Zeppelin, Vanishing Point or Dennis Hopper in Harley) or in the deep-seated melancholy in the typical Vedder-like modulations (impossible not to hear in Unthought Known, the wastes of an old pain, a passed rage.) It remains a fact : this won’t be your much dreamt of one-night-stand, but with the love relationship with this lady is everlasting. Watch out!
