I just got a text from my friend at the Iowa City show right now, apparently Jim James fell off stage and they had to go to intermission and now they might cancel the show.

http://www.myspace.com/serjtankian

We wanted to surprise you with a special treat this morning. Serj and Mike Patton worked on a song together called "Bird's Eye" for the film Body Of Lies starring Russell Crowe and Leonardo Di Caprio.

It is featured on Serj's Myspace audio player and available for you to listen to right now.

Director Ridley Scott and composer Marc Streitenfield helped create the song and wanted an interesting voice to be included on the track. They reached out to both Mike and Serj. Both were interested and the collaboration was put together. When asked about collaborating with Mike Serj said "Patton is a good friend and always invited to any party I'm in".

nouveau supergroupe

From the band:

It is with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of My Morning Jacket's up-coming tour to Europe due to injuries suffered by Jim in Iowa City. For the fans who have purchased tickets, we would like
to extend our gratitude for your support and understanding. Our hope was to merely postpone the tour, but as our scheduling does not allow that to happen in the immediate future, we feel it is best to cancel this tour in hopes of re-scheduling at some point.

We would also like to say 'thank you' to all the fans who have reached out to Jim with their well-wishes as we all hope for his speedy and full recovery.

Albini + Richey + Holy Bible =

http://www.nme.com/news/manic-street-preachers/40841

Manic Street Preachers are set to release an album featuring lyrics written by missing member Richey Edwards.

The Welsh trio told NME.COM that they had recorded nine songs with producer Steve Albini for the album, tentatively titled 'Journal For Plague Lovers', which they plan to release in spring 2009.

The album will only feature lyrics written by Edwards, which his bandmates kept following his disappearance in 1995.

"We've had these lyrics for 14 years and we all felt compelled that this was the right time to do it," bassist Nicky Wire told NME.COM. "It's a follow-up to [1994 album] 'The Holy Bible' in a lot of ways.

"There's a small amount of editing involved, because some of them [Edwards-written passages] are prose and they needed to be made into lyrics, but they're all Richey's."

Tickets for these special Clutch shows are onsale now but be fast as these are sure to sell out quickly. Clutch will play these shows while they are in the UK for the now completely sold-out Hard Rock Hell 2 event in Prestatyn, North Wales.
